Q. Why would your customers want a survey?
Buying a home is probably the largest investment that many people make, frequently using their savings. Whilst all lenders undertake a mortgage valuation, this report is for the benefit of the lender and not the purchaser. It only provides information necessary for assessing whether the property is suitable security for the mortgage.
Many questions may arise that relate to the building itself, such as:
- Are there any defects that are going to be costly to rectify?
- Do these defects affect what I am paying?
It is important that purchasers understand what it is they are buying and whether there may be any additional factors and costs they need to take into account. The small cost of a survey can save considerable money in the longer term.
